Rep. Juan Vargas, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 52nd district since 2013, recently took to social media to voice his opinion on a Republican budget proposal. The congressman, born in National City, California in 1961, expressed his concerns on a series of topics including economic policies and immigration.

On April 10, 2025, Vargas opposed the Republican budget claiming it involves “$7 TRILLION in giveaways to the wealthiest while making the largest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in history.” He emphasized his stance by stating, "I oppose taking food and health care from working families to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Simple as that. I voted NO." The tweet conveys Vargas's firm rejection of the proposal, reflecting his concern for working families and criticism of tax cuts for billionaires.

Later the same day, Vargas reiterated his concern about the budget proposal, stating, “Once again, Republicans are pushing a budget proposal that slashes health care and food assistance while handing out massive tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.” This tweet reinforces his opposition to the proposed financial policies.

On April 11, 2025, Vargas addressed an issue concerning immigration. He declared, “Kilmar Abrego Garcia should have NEVER been torn from his family and his community by the Trump Administration. Bring Kilmar Home.” His tweet advocates for the reunification of families separated by previous immigration policies, highlighting the congressman's stance on humanitarian issues.
