Rep. Juan Vargas, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 52nd district, expressed concerns on social media regarding several issues involving government transparency and accountability. The posts were made over two days in early February 2025.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Vargas criticized the Trump administration for granting Elon Musk access to the United States Treasury payment system, stating: "Es inaceptable que la administración Trump le haya dado al multimillonario Elon Musk acceso al sistema de pagos del Tesoro de Estados Unidos. Nadie eligió a Elon Musk."

Later that day, Rep. Vargas emphasized his commitment to seeking answers and protecting communities alongside his colleagues from House Democrats: "We are demanding answers. My @HouseDemocrats colleagues and I are working to protect our communities, not un-elected billionaire, Elon Musk."

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Vargas reported an incident where members of Congress were denied entry to the Department of Education facilities: "As members of Congress, we were denied access to the Department of Education. This is unacceptable."
