Rep. Juan Vargas, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 52nd district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing immigration reform and Holocaust remembrance. Vargas has been serving in Congress since 2013 and has a history of political service in California.
On January 27, 2025, Rep. Juan Vargas tweeted about his collaboration with colleagues from the Hispanic Caucus to advocate for real solutions to the immigration system. He criticized executive orders that create fear and chaos, stating: "La semana pasada, me uní a mis colegas de @HispanicCaucus para expresar que necesitamos soluciones reales para abordar nuestro sistema de inmigración roto, no órdenes ejecutivas crueles diseñadas a crear miedo y caos."
In another tweet on the same day, Vargas emphasized the need for pathways to citizenship for certain groups within the immigrant community. He stated: "Necesitamos caminos hacia la ciudadanía para los Dreamers, los trabajadores agrícolas y las familia."
Later that day, Rep. Vargas marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day by honoring the memory of those who perished during the Holocaust. He expressed his commitment to combating antisemitism and all forms of hatred: "On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mourn the six million Jewish people and countless others who were murdered in the Holocaust...we must reaffirm our fight against antisemitism and hatred in all forms."
