Rep. Juan Vargas, currently serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for California's 52nd district, has recently shared a series of messages on Twitter. His posts highlight issues of civil rights, commemorate the contributions of notable figures, and promote ongoing advocacy and remembrance efforts.

On March 30, 2025, Vargas emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding civil rights, regardless of one's immigration status. "It’s important for everyone in our communities to know their rights — regardless of immigration status. Join me on Tuesday, April 1 at 4 pm PST for a virtual Know Your Rights workshop to stay informed." He invited the community to a virtual workshop aimed at enhancing public knowledge of individual rights.

The following day, on March 31, 2025, Vargas paid tribute to Leon Williams, acknowledging his legacy as a significant public servant and civic leader. "Leon Williams was a trailblazing public servant and civic leader. He worked hard every single day to leave the world a little better than he found it. His legacy will always be remembered here in San Diego and beyond." Vargas celebrated the enduring impact of Williams on the San Diego community and beyond.

Additionally, on March 31, 2025, Vargas commemorated César Chávez Day by honoring the late activist's contributions to labor and immigrant rights. "César Chávez was a tireless labor and civil rights champion who dedicated his life to uplifting farmworkers and immigrant communities. Today and every day, we honor his legacy and continue the fight for fairness, justice, and dignity for all."
