City of El Centro recently issued the following announcement.
The City of El Centro is soliciting public nominations for 2020 Mardi Gras King & Queen! The distinction is held by one prominent male and female within the El Centro community. The King and Queen will host the City of El Centro’s Mardi Gras King & Queen Coronation reception to be held on January 16, 2020. They will also participate in interviews with various media entities to promote the Mardi Gras Light Parade & Street Festival and ride on the last float in the Mardi Gras Parade on February 22, 2020.
Nominations are due by 5:00 p.m. on December 13, 2019 and are to be submitted to the El Centro Community Center located at 375 S. 1st Street in El Centro. Eligible candidates may live and/or work in El Centro. You may download the application online below or pick up a nomination form at the El Centro Community Center. For more information, please call 760-337-4555. Please attach endorsements, letters of support, biographies, and any other pertinent documents.
