Rep. Juan Vargas, who represents California’s 52nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of posts on his official Twitter account addressing topics ranging from holiday greetings to political statements.

On February 18, 2026, Vargas extended festive wishes to his followers, stating, “Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing everyone health and happiness in the Year of the Horse.”

The following day, on February 19, 2026, he posted about a statement regarding the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce: “My statement on the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce https://t.co/DpigFfozMx”

On February 20, 2026, Vargas addressed former President Donald Trump’s tariff policies with a direct critique: “This is exactly what we’ve been saying from the beginning – Trump’s tariffs were absolutely illegal. Vargas has served as a member of Congress since 2013 after replacing Bob Filner. He previously held positions in both the California State Assembly and Senate before his tenure in Washington. Born in National City in 1961 and currently residing in San Diego at age 62, Vargas holds degrees from both the University of San Diego and Harvard University.
