Rep. Juan Vargas, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 52nd district, has posted a series of statements on his social media account criticizing recent actions and rhetoric from national leaders and calling for transparency on high-profile investigations.

On April 7, 2026, Vargas condemned remarks attributed to former President Donald Trump, stating: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” This is appalling rhetoric from a sitting U.S. president. Suggesting that the United States will commit war crimes and wipe out an entire civilization is madness. Trump’s impulsive, deranged posts are https://t.co/cvkvsFWXs9.

The following day, April 8, 2026, Vargas addressed concerns about the handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by Pam Bondi: The handling of the Epstein files under Pam Bondi continues to raise serious concerns. We won’t back down.

The public deserves transparency and accountability.

Later on April 8, he commented on immigration enforcement policies affecting young immigrants known as Dreamers: Trump’s ICE and CBP have detained nearly 300 Dreamers and deported 90. This includes Dreamers like Juan Chavez Velasco, who was detained on his way to visit his baby in the NICU. We must keep speaking out and make it clear that for Dreamers, #HomeIsHere.
