Imperial Manor ranked as the third largest nursing home in Imperial County in the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.
The facility had a capacity of 31 beds during the period—53 fewer than the county average for the quarter—and provided care for an average of 29.4 residents per day.
CMS awarded Imperial Manor an overall rating of 4 out of 5, surpassing the California nursing home average score of 3.2.
Within the same quarter, El Centro Post-Acute Care was the leading nursing home in Imperial County with 123 beds, while Pioneers Memorial Skilled Nursing Center held second place, offering 99 beds.
As of the first quarter of 2026, Imperial Manor’s total fines amounted to $58,927 across 10 violations, with 11 penalties recorded.
Altogether, Imperial County, California, was home to two for-profit nursing facilities.
U.S. Census Bureau data show the national population of older adults continues to rise while the number of children declines. From 2020 to 2024, the segment of Americans 65 and older increased by 13%, while those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The country’s older adult population grew substantially over the last century, expanding from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.
Findings from a 2021 study indicate that almost half of Americans in this age group—about 28 million people—may ultimately need long-term services and supports. The analysis also suggests that more than a third could require care at a nursing home.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
