At 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, former Holtville High School standout Rafael Espinoza contributed to the Colorado Mesa Mavericks’ 16-0 victory over the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys in an NCAA Division II baseball game.
The matchup was held at The Diamond at The Bus Bergman Sports Complex. This marked their third meeting with the Cowboys this season. Earlier on Saturday, March 7, the Mavericks secured a 7-3 win against the same opponent.
Espinoza threw two innings, tallying one walk and four strikeouts.
The Mavericks are set to face the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys again on Sunday, March 8, at 12 p.m. at The Diamond at The Bus Bergman Sports Complex.
